Brave Women: Inspire. Motivate. Invincible

My story starts with my third great grandmother who was a woman warrior who fought in battle at age 14 alongside her father who died that day. Because she was a warrior she was named “Brave Woman” As a baby my father had a naming ceremony for me and the medicine man honored me that day with a warrior name, “Brave Woman.”  I carry her fighting spirit in my heart each day. This is where my story begins. My father thought it was a good idea at age 3 for a young “Brave girl” like me to start martial arts. He walked me though the door of a Martial Arts school and little did I know what journey life had for me. I started and the next thing I knew I fell in love with it. Martial Arts is all I know, I don’t know what I’d do without it. Here is a short dedication I wrote on my Facebook page “Brave Woman” that describes who I am and the women and girls I wish to inspire. “Praise for the sacrifice you give each day to train. While others are out playing or partying you are at the gym giving your blood sweat and tears. When friends ask you to go out you let them know you can’t because you are training for a fight or a competition or have a clinic or seminar. Your friends feast on foods you have to pass on so you can maintain your weight for the fight. You overcome by being better than you were the day before. You have great mentors, legends you look...
